Dr. Majid Rostami Shahrbabaki (Technical University of Munich, Germany), an external collaborator of Trafficfluid, visited DSSL in September-October 2021 for joint research work on designing vehicular flocking strategies in a lane-free environment. The visit was funded by Bayerische Forschungsallianz (BayFor) under the Bavarian Funding Programme for the Initiation of International Projects (BayIntAn).
Prof. Anouck Girard (University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, MI, USA) visited DSSL from February to May 2022 for joint research work on game theoretic models for vehicle routing and control, with applications to self-driving cars. The visit was funded by a Fulbright Fellowship.
Anouck Girard received the Ph.D. degree in ocean engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, CA, USA, in 2002. She has been with the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, since 2006, where she is currently a Professor of Aerospace Engineering and a Core Faculty in the Robotics Institute. She has co-authored the book Fundamentals of Aerospace Navigation and Guidance (Cambridge University Press, 2014). Her current research interests include vehicle dynamics and control systems.
Nicolas Schoenn-Anchling (ENTPE, France) visited DSSL from April to August 2022 for an internship doing research in the area of lane-free vehicular traffic with application to automated vehicles.
Tommy Chaanine is a PhD student at the University of Genova in systems engineering in a team working on traffic modelling and control. His thesis is about controlling platoons and connected autonomous vehicles in mixed traffic scenarios. Tommy visited DSSL from October to December 2023 for a joint project on a GLOSA system for electric vehicles with uncertain traffic lights switching times.
Fengyue Jin is a PhD student at the Institute of Transportation Systems, Zhejiange University, China. She is working on traffic modelling and control of lane-free traffic on freeways. Fengyue is visiting DSSL in July 2024 for joint research work on microscopic simulation of lane-free traffic.
