- The distinction George N. Saridis Best Transactions Paper Award (Outstanding Research) 2019 (see Distinctions tab) was communicated by several newspapers and public media, such as Haniotika Nea, zarpanews.gr, flashnews.gr, palo.gr.
- The article by Vardaki, E., Papageorgiou, M., Amditis, A.: Reference to an autonomous vehicle in Homer’s Odyssey in the 8th century B.C. was published online at ERTICO’s webpage.
- Dr. Elia Vardaki, Senior Research Associate at DSSL, had an invited participation on 30 March 2021 at an “Internet Discussion on Autonomous Vehicles and 5G”, organized by Alexandra Gouta (Athenian-Macedonian News Agency), featuring, as other panelists, Nikos Chrysos (Cisco International), Dr. Evangelos Bekiaris (Director of Hellenic Institute of Transport) and Prof. Aristotelis Naniopoulos (Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki).
- Dr. Elia Vardaki, Senior Research Associate at DSSL, has provided on 5 February 2021 an interview to the local radio station ANTENA 97.1 (WESTERN CRETE) on social implications of autonomous vehicles.
- On the occasion of the publication of the article "Lane-free artificial-fluid concept for vehicular traffic" in the Proceedings of the IEEE, the Technical University of Crete has posted an announcement. The announcement was taken over and published by the newspaper Haniotika Nea on 28 January 2021, p. 13; as well as by several local news pages, such as: cna.gr; kriti360o; Hania.news; agonaskritis.gr; mainlynews.gr.
- Dr. Elia Vardaki, Senior Research Associate at DSSL, has provided an interview to CRETALIVE NEWS on ethical dilemmas related to automated vehicles. The interview was published on 31 January 2021.
- On the occasion of the start of the work of TrafficFluid, Prof. M. Papageorgiou was invited to an interview on the project and on modern Traffic Management in general, which was published in the 4th (Spring 2020) issue of the periodical Syntetagmenes (Coordinates) of the Technical University of Crete.
